Rev. Dr. Elizabeth R. Sapp Jones, ST

Pastoral Counselor

Rev. Dr. Elizabeth R. Sapp Jones is a pastoral counselor, educator, and servant-leader with over 25 years of ministry experience dedicated to holistic healing, spiritual formation, and personal transformation. She holds a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from Hebrew Union College, a Master of Divinity from Howard University School of Divinity, an Executive MBA from the University of Connecticut, and an undergraduate degree from American University.

Dr. Jones has been ordained in both the African Methodist Episcopal and Baptist traditions and brings a compassionate, faith-centered approach to counseling that integrates theology, psychoanalytic insight, and practical life application. Her pastoral leadership and counseling work are grounded in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life transitions, trauma, purpose, and emotional wellness with wisdom and grace.

In addition to her clinical and pastoral work, Dr. Jones is a bi-vocational leader with experience in organizational leadership, coaching, and community transformation. She previously served as Interim Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Danbury, Connecticut, where she led a season of healing, restoration, and renewed vision. Outside of her professional calling, Dr. Jones enjoys traveling with her family, singing, and horseback riding. She is a strong advocate for intentional self-care and believes wellness includes rest and renewal—her favorite form of self-care is spending a rejuvenating day at the spa.
